Area Law Enforcement
Around 50 vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Vehicles, building surfaces and mailboxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued substance.
The substance had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then found multiple other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Police state early analysis suggest the liquid was most likely blood from a person.
"There is still no lead as to where it came from; authorities are not yet cognizant of any injuries in connection with the incident," they commented.
Local authorities stated they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have requested to the community for tips.
A senior political figure commented the attack made him speechless and needed to be resolved promptly.
"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing attack in 2020," he stated on social media, recalling the death of nine people by a gunman targeting people of foreign heritage in 2020.
