This Dramatic Portrait
In the struggle between faith and wealth, the victory is clear for greed in Michael Showalter's brilliantly over-the-top film adaptation of the disgraced religious broadcaster and her criminal husband. Garfield acts as the greedy Jim, who proclaims initially, claiming divine approval for wealth. The couple begin profiting from the people's religious faith. It's a riot of bad interior design, overdone appearance and bad faith, though Chastain manages to depict Tammy Faye as a sympathetic figure. October 14th, 1.15am, the Film4 channel
