Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, demons, and dark forces increasing in power within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the premier party of characters who will split off from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the developments of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty place.
- The warrior and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to kill the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the team reach areas they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a eternal obligation to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that govern the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward the remote area in search of the antagonist.
